Description

Located on the Bellarine Penninsula, Banks Road Vineyard is a small, family-run winery and vineyard. With roughly 13.5 acres of vineyards at Banks Road, they were founded in 2002 by William and Avanelle Derham. They cultivate Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Gris. Although the Banks Road range is now mostly produced from their own vineyards, they nevertheless maintain close relationships with their producers and have established two additional labels to facilitate their continued collaboration. Barrell fermentation produces a strong and nuanced bouquet of pears, kiwi fruit, cedar, and flowery spice. With a smooth, soft texture and a mineral acidity at the end, the palate is rich and round, with flavors of lemon, cinnamon, and stone fruit.
